1st September, 2008 Ghatshila closes down

A 24-hour bandh called by the CPM to mark its protest against police atrocities in Burudih paralysed Ghatshila. As happens in all bandhs, everything to anything was closed and one more day lost for some areas of progress.

What is this?

Left parties invented the mass scale Hartals and Bandhs and all sundry parties in India calls for a strike at the drop of a hat. The Left still maintains that it stands for the right to strike by the working class as a fundamental right. But what about the rights of the man on the street, the person who loses his day’s labour, a corpse reaching the burial place, a pregnant woman who cant reach the hospital, a bridegroom and bride reaching to their marriage pedestal, a patient who dies on the way to the hospital, passenger who cant reach his destination, a student who cant reach his school, an employee who cant reach his office? How will you protect the rights of these large majorities? How can you wage a war against your own people?

When I born, there was strike

When I grow up, strike follows me

When I go to road, strike blocks me

When I scared, strike is the reason

When I travel, strike falls on me

When I sick, strike doesnt allow me to hospital

And when I die, I am still struck up in a strike

And you Leftist fellow

When you born, you were taken care from strike

When you grow up, you go abroad for studies

When you go to road, comrades protect you

When you scared, ideology saves you

When you travel, you know in advance when to avoid

When you sick, hospital comes to you

And when you die, you are given red salute and escorted

And you calling me your supporter? No way
