15th June, 2008 Tufanganj bandh by Trinamool

People change but cultures never change. So the band culture in West Bengal continues unabated. The Trinamul Congress sponsored bandh at Deocharai gram panchayat area in Tufanganj passed off peacefully. The bandh was called to protest against the alleged murder of a Trinamul Congress supporter. A large contingent of police along with BSF jawans were deployed in the area to maintain law and order during the bandh. Section 144 of the CrPC was promulgated in the area. It has not been withdrawn yet.
