Even a small hamlet's co-operative bank's election can lead to protests and subsequently a hartal in one of the most prosperous districts of Kerala cannot be fathomed by many outside the state. But as far as the people of Kottayam is concerned, they gleefully obeyed to a hartal by UDF protesting against the violence during the elections to the Kattappana Service Cooperative Bank. Now this may not be the end of road as parties have got a good excuse to extend this hartal further. Hail Kerala
