20th July, 2008 - Malappuram in Kerala on hartal mood
The ruling LDF is observing a 12- hour hartal in Malappuram and Kozhikode districts on Sunday in protest against the death of the school headmaster. The hartal will be from 6 am to 6 pm. As a sequel to this, there is another hartal on Monday. So make the most of now.

Can i commend you for the great work you are doing, My organization is planning a huge public awareness program as well as moving court through PIL. I would like your help in knowing how many bandhs (regional, district, national) has affected the State of Kerala in the year 2007, and 2008. I work in the Education sector, Management to be exact. We are finding our Kids not being able to finish their required syllabus in time, and having adverse effect on their board exams.
Your help will deeply apperciated.

This is a documentation of the bandhs all across the country and it was started purely because I faced the same question you posed to me- There is no documentation of how many bandhs have been held. It was started 50 days ago and each day there was a bandh in at least one part of India. This is a voluntary service and you can also chip in with your contribution. Whatever I have, it is here in this blog and you can use it since this is just a compilation and not a creation
