9th July 2008 - Trinamul exists to call for bandhs

The Trinamul Congress, the party with the sole agenda of disruption, called a 24-hour bandh at Natabari in Tufanganj as a mark of protest against the atrocities by the CPI-M and the police jointly on Trinamul Congress supporters.(What else) A clash between CPI-M and Trinamul Congress supporters , at Natabari on Saturday night injured five. Abdar Ali and his minor son were arrested and sent to the court yesterday in connection with the incident. Abdar Ali is an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of police engaged at Falakata police station in Jalpaiguri district. He visited his village at Natabari when he was on leave. CPI-M sources alleged that Ali he took sides of the Trinamul Congress though party sources denied the allegation.
Vice-president of the district Trinamul Congress, Mr Niranjan Dutta said, the CPI-M unleashed a reign of terror in several areas in Tufanganj sub-division. Condemning the violence that took place on Saturday Mr Dutta said, “Tomorrow we will observe a 24-hour bandh at Natabari to stage protest against the terror tactics of the CPI-M and police”.(Statesman Reported this article)
